It's actually 11:36
Overheard in the classroom next to my office: "Wake up everyone! It's 11:30! It's the middle of the day! So start talking!"
This strikes me as a heavy-handed way to spur classroom discussion, but hey, we do what we gotta do.

I get tired in the middle of the day... but not at 11:30!
College kids are often just waking up at 11:15. So I'm told.
I had a teacher in high school who used to hit the trash can with a yardstick to wake us up. It worked.
Sederquist threw chalk at us, strategically missing our heads by mere inches.
Mr. Putnam used to hit the desk tops of people who were sleeping with a yard stick. Ahh, the good ol' days of 9th grade social studies...
Mr. Cole threw film canisters across the room. Boy, that dates me, huh? Throwing YouTube across the room just doesn't have the same effect.
Throwing YouTube doesn't work as a tactic. And that's why the students were asleep in the classroom next to your office!
